# Tönnjes Group — digitizing public service workflows

At Tönnjes Group, I worked on large-scale government systems spanning the Cayman Islands, Panama, and Peru, with a core focus on vehicle registration and license issuance. The projects required secure, scalable software built for real public-sector operations, where speed, reliability, and trust matter as much as technical quality.

In the Cayman Islands, I helped reduce license plate issuance time by 75% within nine months by using RFID and secure ID technology aligned with ISO 27002 and OWASP practices. In Peru, the vehicle registration process was cut from 10 days to 1 day within 12 months, improving efficiency and citizen satisfaction and supporting a more responsive public service model.

# Building for trust and scale

Government systems are not only software projects—they are trust systems. The platform had to support secure processing, clear operational flows, and data integrity while handling high-volume public services.

I worked across C#, MVC, WCF APIs, microservices, RFID technology, T-SQL, SQL performance tuning, query optimization, data modeling, and ETL engineering. The work included database redesign, legacy data migration, and real-time payment synchronization between banks and the platform, with batch downloads into the manufacturing module twice per day.

# Why the work mattered

This project shaped how I think about software in the public sector: not only as a technical challenge, but as a responsibility to make important processes faster, more reliable, and easier for citizens and teams to depend on. It also reinforced my belief that good architecture and data discipline are essential when systems support critical operational outcomes.
