Tönnjes International Group — modernizing vehicle registration

I worked as a Software Engineer and Team Leader at Tönnjes International Group Latin America & The Caribbean from 2011 to 2017. I built and led vehicle-registration systems for public-sector services, including projects in Peru and the Cayman Islands.

Shortening registration times

In the Cayman Islands, I led a 10-person team on the vehicle registration system from 2015 to 2016. Using secure ID technology and ISO 27002 and OWASP controls, the project reduced license-plate and driver's-license issuance time by 75%, from four days to one, within nine months.

In Peru, I led an eight-person team on the vehicle registration system from 2011 to 2015. The project reduced license-plate issuance time from 10 days to one within 12 months. The work included database redesign, legacy-data migration, and real-time payment synchronization with banks and the manufacturing module.

Registration platforms and data integration

I also built vehicle- and driver-license registration platforms for the Peruvian Automobile Association. The solutions included ASP.NET web applications, XML/JSON web services, desktop and mobile apps, and RFID integration. My work covered T-SQL development and tuning, data modeling, and ETL to enable near-real-time data updates.
